Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH

On April 29, 2026, after approximately two years of construction, Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH officially inaugurated its new HOSTAPHAN™ polyester film line with an investment volume of more than 100 million euros at the Wiesbaden Industrial Park. During an official inauguration ceremony, the company welcomed the president of the parent company, Manabu Chikumoto, along with numerous customers, local political representatives, and employees at the site.

This state-of-the-art facility expands our production capacity by 27,000 tons per year and sets new standards in advanced, energy-efficient manufacturing. With integrated heat recovery, the use of post-consumer recycled PET-materials, and highly automated processes including robotics, the new line actively supports our commitment to reducing CO₂ emissions and advancing a sustainable circular economy.

This investment reinforces our long-term commitment to Wiesbaden, strengthening the site, securing and expanding around 560 jobs.

During the opening ceremony, which included a tour of the new facility and the symbolic cutting of the red ribbon, Manabu Chikumoto, CEO of the Mitsubishi Chemical Group as well as Wiesbaden Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende, among others, addressed the guests with welcoming remarks.

A big thank you to everyone involved in making this project a success.
