The new PET film plant of Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Chemical Europe GmbH, commenced operations at the beginning of 2026 following a two-year construction phase and increases the production capacity at the Wiesbaden/Germany site by 27,000 tons of HOSTAPHAN™ PET film per year.
The state-of-the-art technology meets current European standards. An efficient gas and steam power plant with combined heat and power is provided by the operator of the industrial park. This is complemented by a sustainable heat recovery system from Mitsubishi Polyester Film GmbH.
A new feature is the efficient automatic packaging station for various packaging systems.
A water-based coating expands the extensive product portfolio of HOSTAPHAN™ films. In addition, the equipment of the new plant enables Mitsubishi Polyester Film to expand its PCR film program.
Internal mechanical recycling prevents waste and makes internal production scrap recyclable.
