Black and light blocking HOSTAPHAN® polyester films

Black HOSTAPHAN® films from biaxially oriented polyester are not only attractive but also provide the highest optical densities of our product range. Various types are available, with different characteristics such as reduced flammability or a white surface.

HOSTAPHAN® BHO – Black polyester film with high optical density

HOSTAPHAN® BHO is a black film with high opacity.

Thickness range in µm: 25, 50

Available with chemical pre-treatment for adhesion promotion.

HOSTAPHAN® BFO – Black polyester film with high optical density and reduced flammability

For applications that require very high opacity and for which improved fire behaviour is essential, we recommend HOSTAPHAN® BFO.

HOSTAPHAN® BMOD – Light blocking, black polyester film for food contact

Black, light blocking HOSTAPHAN® BMOD is permissible for food contact in the EU and the US. It offers the same optical density as HOSTAPHAN® BMO.

HOSTAPHAN® WWB – Light blocking polyester film with one black and one white side

HOSTAPHAN® WWB has one black and one white side. The high opacity and the high whiteness of the white surface are further striking features of the film. The black side does not conduct electricity.

HOSTAPHAN® WBW – Light blocking polyester film with a black centre layer and white-grey cover layers

The black centre-layer of HOSTAPHAN® WBW ensures a high optical density. From the outside, the film appears white-grey.

HOSTAPHAN® LHB – Black, hydrolysis resistant polyester film

Our black HOSTAPHAN® LHB can be used backside alternative to white surfaces in photovoltaic modules. This film is stabilised to withstand weathering effects such as UV degradation and hydrolysis and has improved burning performance. This combination of properties makes the film ideal for outer layers.
